Knox Leisureworks

Make a local pool day of it at this aquatic and recreation centre at 35 Tormore Road. Families can choose from five indoor pools, a splash park, waterslides and a warm-water pool. Kid’s Planet Playground at Boronia Hotel

Children can enjoy an indoor playground while visiting Boronia Hotel as customers. There is a junior area for children aged five and under, while the wider play equipment caters for children up to 12. An adult must supervise children at all times, and children five and under must be accompanied by an adult. Check the current family-entertainment sessions and whether a bistro booking is required.

Boronia Soccer Club

Young players can join MiniRoos and junior football programs, with teams across different ages and genders. Beginners are welcome alongside more experienced players. Contact the club directly before planning a season to ask about current registrations, age groups and team availability.

1st Boronia Scouts

Young people aged 10 to 15 can develop outdoor skills, teamwork and planning through camps and other Scout adventures. Meetings run on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Prospective families need to contact the Scout Leader before attending.

Together We Heal School Holiday Program

This Boronia program combines creative and active holiday experiences for children, including art, craft, music, storytelling, cooking, games, outdoor play and day trips. Contact the practice to confirm current dates, available places, eligibility and fees before booking.

🧸 Early years, playgroups and care

Knox Community Playgroups — Boronia venues

Parents and carers can meet other local families while children from birth to five years play and socialise. Council lists groups at Cooinda Children and Family Centre, 21A Dinsdale Road, and Haering Road Children and Family Centre, 17A Haering Road. These community playgroups are run by parent and carer volunteers. Phone the Council Playgroup Team on 9298 8348 for current sessions and joining information.

KCBC Playgroup

Children from birth to school age can take part in open-ended play, craft, songs, stories and indoor and outdoor activities with a parent, grandparent or carer. The volunteer-run group meets at Knox Community Baptist Church, 17–19 Falconer Road, on Tuesdays from 9.30am to 11.30am during school terms. Online enrolment is requested.

Haering Road Kindergarten

One Tree Community Services operates this sessional kindergarten at 17 Haering Road for three- and four-year-old children. It has 30 places in each age group and offers Victorian Government-funded kindergarten. Enrolment is managed through Knox City Council; One Tree’s enrolment team can assist on 1800 919 995.

Goodstart Early Learning Boronia

Located at 15–17 Boronia Road, this early learning centre provides long day care and a government-funded kindergarten program. Families can enquire about all-day or 10-hour sessions, ask about vacancies on 1800 222 543, and arrange a tour directly with the centre.

Boronia Heights OSHClub

Families connected with Boronia Heights Primary School can access before-school care, after-school care and holiday programs at 68–72 Landscape Drive. Enrolment is free, but places need to be booked through OSHClub. For enrolment and booking help, contact the provider or its customer service team on 1300 395 735.

🌱 Child development and family health

Marie Chandler Maternal and Child Health Centre

Knox City Council provides maternal and child health support for local families with children from birth to school age at 11 Park Crescent. Appointments can be made, changed or cancelled through Council. Phone the Maternal and Child Health team on 9298 8741 on weekdays; the statewide 24-hour maternal and child health line is 13 22 29.

Happy Chatter

This paediatric clinic at Level 2, 252 Dorset Road offers speech pathology and occupational therapy for children in early intervention, primary school and secondary school years. Options include clinic-based and telehealth therapy, occupational therapy groups and holiday therapy groups. Regular home visits are not provided. Phone (03) 9761 3653 for general enquiries.

FLIP OT

Based in Boronia, this mobile paediatric occupational therapy service travels within a 30-minute radius for visits at homes, schools, kindergartens and childcare settings. Assessments and individual therapy focus on children’s functional skills. Self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants are accepted, but NDIA-managed participants are not. Travel fees may apply outside Boronia.

🤝 Youth, parenting and practical support

Knox Youth Services

Young people aged 10 to 25—and their families—can access Council programs, support and referral pathways if they live, work, study or have a connection to Knox. Offerings include Youth Hive, school holiday programs, youth groups, skill-development activities and a Young Parents program for parents under 25. The service hub is nearby in Wantirna South. Participants under 18 need parent or guardian consent for youth programs, and accessibility needs can be discussed with Youth Services.

Knox Infolink Emergency Relief

City of Knox residents and people experiencing homelessness can seek practical assistance at 136 Boronia Road without an appointment. Depending on circumstances, support may include food relief, personal packs, prescription or transport assistance, energy advocacy, no-interest loan applications, short-term casework, education assistance and referrals. Bring identification for privacy purposes. Emergency relief operates Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 3pm; phone (03) 9761 1325.

Parentline Victoria

Victorian parents and carers of children from birth to 18 can call for information, counselling and referrals about everyday parenting concerns. The statewide telephone service is available to Boronia families daily from 8am to midnight on 13 22 89.

Carers Victoria Statewide Carer Advisory Service

Carers can access free information and support when looking after a family member, friend or community member living with disability, chronic illness, a mental health condition or age-related support needs. Young carers aged 25 and under are included. Phone 1800 514 845 from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm; support can be arranged in a preferred language.
